TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk is discussing his Terafab semiconductor project with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., reports said Saturday.

The Culpium website said a link was possible with recent reports that TSMC was looking to invest in Texas in addition to its current operations in Arizona. The Taiwanese chipmaker was likely to try to own and operate the Terafab plant, according to Culpium.

“Just discussions, but something may come of it,” Musk wrote about the possibility of cooperating with TSMC on his X account Saturday. While TSMC did not respond immediately to the latest reports, its plans for Texas were expected to be one of the topics of discussion at the company’s Oct. 15 earnings conference, per CNA.
