Women have been the target of online misinformation in India after they took part in youth-led protests seeking government reforms, the latest involving AI-generated images depicting them wearing revealing attire in a demonstration. The clips -- which circulated in October as thousands gathered in New Delhi for a rally headed by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) against the election commissioner-- contain multiple visual errors. Meta's AI detection tool also flagged them as containing synthetic content.
