Old videos misrepresented as showing damage caused by France school protests

Mass protests over decrepit conditions at French high schools descended into sporadic violence in October 2026, but videos circulating on social media that purportedly show the damage caused by demonstrators in fact predate the rallies that started in late September. The clips were in fact filmed during protests in Paris in December 2022 and as Paris Saint-Germain fans celebrated their Champions League win in May 2026.
