Years-old video falsely linked to student demonstrations in France

As student protesters demanding better conditions in high schools clashed with French police at rallies across the country in late September 2026, an old video was falsely shared in social media posts linking it to the violence. The video was in fact filmed in January 2023 during a protest over pension reform.
