【緯來新聞網】前英特爾（Intel）執行長、現任創投 Playground Global 合夥人季辛格（Pat Gelsinger）今（27）日再度訪台，他表示希望世界擁有比現在多一萬倍的 AI，但電力、記憶體與晶圓廠都不可能跟著擴張一萬倍，唯一的出路是讓 AI 的效率提升至少一萬倍，而台灣正是實現這些突破的地方。AI 要一萬倍成長 電力不可能跟上季辛格描繪他想像中的 AI：下次見面時，眼鏡會提醒他上次見到對方是什麼時候、對方生日是哪天，再透過助聽器告訴他；每個業務流程、每條產線的每個步驟都由 AI 驅動，而且遍及全球每一個經濟體。「我們有可能把電力增加一萬倍嗎？絕不可能」，但他直言，光是滿足現在的 AI 用電就已經很吃力。他指出，美國去年電網容量只增加約 5％，其中約一半的新增電力都給了 AI。季辛格表示，記憶體、晶圓廠也是同樣的道理，因此 AI 的效率必須至少提升一萬倍。會後受訪時，他也形容，在數位 AI 時代，能源容量就等於經濟容量，發展速度不可能快過能源供給。他強調，晶片效能提升 10％、供電效率改善 10％這類漸進式改良，在一萬倍的目標面前「無關緊要」，產業需要的是激進的新做法，這也是 Playground 投資的方向，包括光通訊、電源與全新運算架構。季辛格讚台灣：創新與量產速度全球第一「你我可以在早餐時想到一個點子，到了午餐台灣就能做出原型，晚餐前就進入早期量產。」談到台灣，季辛格回憶，40 多年前第一次來台，就是和英特爾前執行長葛洛夫（Andy Grove）一起出席記者會，後來發展出主機板、PC 相容機與伺服器產業。他強調「AI 對台灣很好，台灣對 AI 也很好」，並指出台灣的重要性，指出人口不到 2,500 萬的台灣，如今已是美國最大的貿易夥伴。
