Clip shows traditional Durbar procession, not a rally for Nigerian opposition leader Peter Obi

With campaigns in full swing ahead of Nigeria’s January 2027 general election, a video posted on Facebook claims to show an election rally for opposition leader and presidential hopeful Peter Obi in the north-central Nigerian state of Kwara, in a part of the country outside his traditional southern stronghold. However, the claim is false; the clip shows a Durbar festival procession held in Kano state, led by local traditional ruler, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero.
