Critics wrongly accuse NZ party leader of fabricating race result

After New Zealand's Opportunity Party shared a photo of leader Qiulae Wong finishing a race at the Auckland Runaway Marathon, social media users pointed out her bib number was not registered in her name and insinuated she did not participate. Many of her detractors also dismissed her presence at the finishing line as a photo opportunity ahead of the country's November 7 election. Wong's party said she bought the number off another runner who could not make the race, and there is video evidence of her taking part.
