Pope Leo reaffirmed his commitment to ending abuse of children by Catholic priests in a meeting with French abuse survivors on Sunday, the Vatican said.

梵蒂岡表示，在與法國的受虐倖存者會面中，教宗良十四世重申他終結天主教神職人員侵犯兒童的承諾。

In a two-hour meeting with seven survivors in France, where Leo is on a three-city weekend visit, the pope met privately with each of the victims and heard proposals for how to improve the Church’s safeguarding measures, a Vatican statement said.

梵蒂岡聲明指出，良十四世在法國三個城市的訪問行程期間，與七名倖存者進行一場兩小時會面。教宗與每位受害者個別會談，並聽取如何改善教會防範措施的建言。

"He thanked them for their painful testimony and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the harm they experienced is not repeated for others," it said.

聲明寫道，「教宗感謝受害者提供的沉痛證言，重申會致力確保此類傷害不會在他人身上重蹈覆轍」。

The survivors said after the meeting that it was emotional and touching. They said they felt listened to by the pontiff and they were impressed by his compassion and his knowledge of their individual cases, but they also hoped that the words would be accompanied by action.

倖存者會後表示，這場會面令人激動且動容，認為自己確實受到傾聽，也對教宗的關懷以及對個別案件的了解程度印象深刻。但他們仍希望這些承諾能與實際作為相呼應。
