Unproven 'cures' pushed online amid plague concerns

Reports that a woman employed at a plague research institute in Russia's Irkutsk region died from the disease spiked online interest in possible treatments for the illness in North America. But experts told AFP the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin will be ineffective and warned against taking antibiotics without known exposure.
