I’ve built hundreds of Lego sets. These early October Prime Day deals are actually worth buying | CNN Underscored

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale marks the unofficial start to the wider holiday shopping season, and as such, deals on gifts are some of the best ways to save. On top of being CNN Underscored’s senior deals editor, I’m also our resident expert on all things Lego, and am here to used that combined experience to breakdown which kits are actually worth building yourself or wrapping up under the tree come December now that they’re on sale. After rounding up the other best October Prime Day deals, the first thing I did was dive in to see how the Lego discounts were this year. Below, I’ve rounded up my 34 favorite Lego deals, including brick-built plants that don’t require watering, collectible Star Wars droids and a series of kits I can recommend after building them myself. My favorite Lego deals Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 My favorite holiday tradition is building the year's latest Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar. For 2026, there's a new way to count down to the big day throughout the month of December with 24 miniature models and minifigures from a galaxy far, far away. I took a sneak peek at this year's, and love the theming around the Mandalorian and his little, green companion, Grogu. $45 $35 at Amazon $45 $35 at Walmart Lego Botanicals Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree The lowest price ever on my personal favorite Lego Botanicals set is here for Prime Day — and not just at Amazon. Walmart is also marking this kit down by an additional $7 compared with the last price cut I tracked. Regardless of where you shop, you'll be able to assemble the build that I wrote a glowing review of back when it launched. Read Our Review $60 $48 at Walmart $60 $48 at Amazon Lego Smart Play Throne Room Duel and A-Wing Lego rolled out new Smart Play sets this year with interactive, electronic elements at the center of the play experience, and this set is my favorite of the batch. Depicting one of the final duel from “Return of the Jedi,” this Throne Room set uses the Smart Brick to similar Lightsaber sounds. It's on sale for the first time at with this weekend's 20% discount. $160 $128 at Amazon Lego Pokémon Eevee One of my favorite Lego Pokémon sets (and easily the most adorable) is this new brick-built Eevee model. It stacks up to 587 pieces and assembles into a cute rendition of the character, complete with posable paws and expressive ears. I bought this right when it released at its full MSRP, and this week, you can save 20% with the first discount. $60 $48 at Amazon Lego Botanicals Hibiscus Flower One of my favorite sets in recent memory, this hibiscus plant is one of the latest sets from the Lego Botanicals family and an easy recommendation to long-time Lego fans and new builders alike. It was fun and meditative to assemble, and the final product delivers a vibrant flower that looks striking on display. Today's markdown at Amazon and Walmart lets you save 20% at your preferred retailer. $70 $56 at Amazon $70 $56 at Walmart Lego Speed Champions Time Machine from Back to the Future I first bought this set during the summer Prime Day sale back in June, and it's been one of my favorite Lego models of the year. Now for Prime Big Deal Days, you can score another chance to save 22% on the new Speed Champions version of the DeLorean from the Back to the Future films. I still love the intricate details that Lego has been able to pack into a relatively compact build, as well as the included Marty McFly and Doc Brown that figures make it an even easier recommendation. $28 $22 at Amazon $28 $22 at Walmart Lego Creator 3-in-1 Haunted Mansion One of the best categories of deals for October Prime Day is being able to save on candy and other Halloween essentials. If you're looking for a spooky Lego set to build as you enjoy watching your favorite scary movies, this Creator kit comes with 736 pieces that can be built into one of three designs. There's the main Haunted Mansion, but also a ghost train and an undead pirate ship. This rare discount won't last long, so save 20% while Amazon still has this set in stock. $90 $72 at Amazon Lego October Prime Day flower deals Lego Botanicals Bouquet of Roses Giving your partner roses doesn't just have to be a Valentine's Day tradition, and this bouquet of Lego flowers will ensure they actually last until next year's holiday and beyond. The roses make for an even more perfect present at 20% off, and they assemble into an arrangement with various stages of flowering, including four in full bloom, four that are just beginning to blossom and four sprouting buds. $60 $48 at Amazon $60 $48 at Walmart Lego Botanicals Happy Plants As much as I love many of the other discounted flowers that have made the cut for October Prime Day, I get that not everyone wants to spend $24 or more on a Lego kit. That's why you should consider this pair of adorable little Lego plants instead. The Happy Plants kit includes dracaena and pilea plants that can be placed in planters with cute faces on them. I've recommended these to a few of my fellow editors at CNN Underscored and am back to recommend them to you now that they're $5 off. Read Our Review $23 $18 at Amazon $23 $18 at Walmart Lego Botanicals Peace Lily Flower The first discount on this new addition to the Lego Botanicals greenhouse has just gone live. It's not as steep as some of the other 20% markdowns, but allows you to save $8 on the recently released Peace Lily. It includes a buildable vase at the bottom of the plan and lets you gift the flower that's known for bringing good fortune and prosperity without having to worry if the recipient can keep a living plant. $50 $42 at Amazon $50 $42 at Walmart Lego Botanicals Tiny Plants Assemble this collection of miniature plants and their faux-terra-cotta pots at the best price ever. This Lego Botanicals set can be built on your own or with friends and includes nine different models like a Venus flytrap, a prickly pear and a pincushion cactus. $50 $40 at Amazon Lego Botanicals Lucky Bamboo Bamboo pants are said to bring good fortune to their owners, and this version made of Lego bricks will last for years to come — no watering necessary. Unlike some of the other Botanicals sets at this price point, the three green bamboo stems with leaves actually come with a brick-built pot that's filled with pebbles for the full authentic look. $30 $24 at Amazon Lego Botanicals Succulents Assemble this assortment of nine Lego succulents for its lowest price ever. This $15 discount at Amazon is not only matching the best discount to date, but it also undercuts the competing sale from Walmart by an extra $5. This set stacks up to several types of cacti and desert plants that can be combined into a single centerpiece or disconnected and scattered throughout your home to spread out the lifelike plants that don't need to be watered. $50 $35 at Amazon $50 $40 at Walmart $50 $40 at Walmart Lego October Prime Day Icons deals Lego Icons The Lord of The Rings: Balrog Book Nook Now down to its lowest price ever, this set is an extra $1 under last discounted I spotted during Prime Day back in June. One of the biggest issues with buying new Lego kits aimed at adults is that most of them take up so much space. This book nook from “The Lord of The Rings” fixes that by packing an intricate build into a design that can be displayed on its own or folded down to fit among books on a shelf. $130 $108 at Amazon $130 $108 at Walmart Lego Icons Back to the Future Time Machine I’m shocked to see this Lego set still in stock. It was previously retired, which means you won’t find it on store shelves at other retailers. Maybe Doc Brown sent some inventory forward in time so you could save $30 on the iconic Time Machine from the Back to the Future trilogy. $200 $170 at Amazon Lego October Prime Day Star Wars deals Lego Star Wars AT-RT Attack Back when this recent set launched in the spring, its MSRP was a bit too steep for me to fully recommend. But now that it's finally on sale for the first time? This is a perfect way to gift the Mandalorian and Grogu characters to a Star Wars fan on your list. Use the nearly 300 included pieces to assemble an AT-RT walker that can battle against a snow-covered Imperial turret. $45 $36 at Amazon Lego Star Wars Anzellan Starship The Anzellan aliens might not be the most iconic Star Wars characters, but anyone who left a screen of “The Mandalorian and Grogu” this summer will definitely have a soft spot for the adorable little guys. Their spaceship from the latest Star Wars movie is seeing its first discount at Amazon, taking 20% off the scaled-down starship. $75 $60 at Amazon Lego Star Wars Grogu With Hover Pram This Lego Star Wars set has sold out at nearly every other retailer, but Walmart still has it in stock and (more importantly) on sale! With “The Mandalorian and Grogu” hitting theaters recently, today’s discount arrives to bring the titular hero to your collection at 20% off. $100 $80 at Walmart Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series AT-ST Walker A new low price has landed on this recent display-worthy set from the Ultimate Collector Series (UCS). These UCS builds are easily some of the all-around best Lego set, Star Wars or not, for older builders who want a more challenging model. This impressive AT-ST walker stands over 14 inches tall once all 1,512 pieces have been clicked into place, and clicking the on-page coupon at Amazon will mean saving a total of $37. $200 $163 at Amazon Lego Rebel U-Wing Starfighter I have been obsessed with the new Lego U-Wing from the series “Andor” since it wrapped up last year, and I can’t recommend this U-Wing Starfighter set enough after buying it for myself. I adore the new Cassian Andor minifigure and the K-2SO droid that are both included in the kit, now 44% off — a new all-time low price that's an extra $17 under the last discount. $70 $39 at Amazon Lego Star Wars Smart Play: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing If you've been waiting for a discount to finally give Lego Smart Play a chance, now's the time. Amazon is taking 20% off this complete kit that includes an X-Wing starfighter alongside a Death Star turret to battle, some ground control vehicles to do maintenance and other accessories for unlocking all the Smart Brick's different interactive features. $90 $72 at Amazon Lego Star Wars R2-D2 Astromech Droid If you've never built a Lego set before and are looking for the perfect kit to get started, this R2-D2 would be my top choice. I just recently recommended it to a friend who subsequently loved piecing its 1,050 bricks together in order to assemble a display-worthy version of one of the most recognizable robots in all of cinema. $100 $80 at Amazon $100 $80 at Walmart Lego Star Wars AT-AT Walker This display set from themed around the AT-AT Walker from “The Empire Strikes Back” is now on sale for the very first time for Prime Day. I found this one to be a little too expensive when it launched to recommend anyone buy at full price, but now that it's 20% off, it feels like a much better value, especially if you're a fan of the original trilogy. I love the little detail of the Rebel Snowspeeder swooping around the legs. $65 $52 at Amazon $65 $52 at Walmart Lego Star Wars Starship Collection Millennium Falcon Lego's recent Starship Collection has been another great way for older builders to enjoy the relaxing process of building a set, and this re-creation of the Millennium Falcon may just be the best kit from that lineup. This version of the iconic ship features an incredibly accurate design, tons of detail and a display stand that makes it a notable kit for older builders to show off in their homes. $85 $68 at Amazon $85 $68 at Walmart Lego October Prime Day superhero deals Lego Marvel Advent Calendar 2026 Doctor Doom is set to arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the theatrical release of “Avengers: Doomsday,” but before then, you can assemble a festive version of the iconic villain in this Marvel Advent calendar. Alongside the candy cane-wielding multiversal-level threat, you'll get 23 other builds that you can unbox and build day-by-day throughout December. Save 20% with the best discount to date at your choice of two retailers. $45 $35 at Amazon $45 $35 at Walmart Lego Marvel Epic Battle: Spider-Man vs. Sandman Despite how much praise Tobey Maguire's portrayal of Spider-Man gets, there are very few Lego sets actually based around his version of the webslinging hero. That's one of the reasons why this $5-off-kit is so cool, as it depicts one of the more iconic scenes from the “Spider-Man 3,” where Peter Parker and Harry Osborn (paired up with Vemon) face off against Sandman. $25 $20 at Amazon Lego Marvel Miles Morales Mech vs. Spider-Man Need a Lego Marvel stocking stuffer? This buildable mech set is the perfect choice. It's 20% off and includes a pair of Spider-Man minifigures alongside the robot that Miles Morales can pilot. It's pretty rare to get two great minifigs in a set this affordable, which is only accentuated by the discount. $15 $12 at Amazon Lego Marvel Fantastic Four Vs. Galactus The very first (and only) Lego set to depict the Fantastic Four was released last fall to accompany the superhero team's new film. Now it's on sale for one of the first times as this Prime Day offer that takes $12 off the original price tag. It's the only way to score Mr. Fantastic, the Human Torch, Susan Storm and The Thing in minifigure form right now, and the kit also includes a giant brick-built Galactus for them to fight. $60 $48 at Amazon Lego Prime Day Speed Champions deals Lego Speed Champions Ferrari SF-24 Formula 1 Race Car Charles Leclerc is holding steady in fourth place in the current Formula 1 standings ahead of next weekend's upcoming Singapore Grand Prix race. If you're looking for a way to elevate your watch party or just want to add a collectible to your space that shows off your support of the racer, this 20% discount is a better chance than any to score the iconic red racer. $27 $22 at Amazon Lego Speed Champions McLaren W1 Race Car This new McLaren W1 set is on sale for one of the first times all before October Prime Day arrives. Two retailers have it marked down by 20%, and in either case, you can score the new Speed Champions vehicle on sale. I love that the included minifigure has a McLaren hoodie on instead of the typical racing attire that many of these driver minifigures wear. $28 $22 at Amazon $28 $22 at Walmart Other Lego Prime Day deals Lego Ideas Polaroid OneStep SX-70 I first recommended this Lego version of the classic Polaroid OneStep when it launched, and have only continued to suggest friends and readers alike build this kit as it has gone on sale. Another chance to save is here for Prime Day, with a $14 markdown that makes its realistic design an even cooler display piece for photographers. $80 $66 at Amazon Lego Classic Large Creative Brick Box If you're just looking to get your hands on an assortment of random Lego bricks to unleash your creativity and build whatever fun little thing comes to mind, this box of bricks is for you. It's 44% off for Prime Day and includes 790 assorted pieces that can be used to assemble vehicles, animals and anything else you imagine. $60 $33 at Amazon Lego Ideas Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. This is one of my favorite Lego sets that I haven't actually had the chance to build myself, but I've been eyeing it for ages and may finally pull the trigger on adding it to my cart now that it's 20% off. It assembles Luxo Jr., the iconic lamp character from the animation studio's 1986 animated short film and comes packed with references to various Pixar films as you piece it together. No spoilers, though! You'll have to build it yourself to uncover them. $70 $56 at Amazon Lego Super Mario: Mario Kart Interactive Mario and Standard Kart Lego just expanded its Super Mario lineup to include Mario Kart last fall, and now one of the first (and best) deals on a kit from the theme has gone live. Before October Prime Day, you can take 24% off the Interactive Mario figure and a Standard Kart build, complete with an Item Box, Red Shells and other accessories. This is an extra $2 under the summer sale's price back in June and the lowest it has ever sold for. $55 $42 at Amazon Why these Lego deals are worth shopping I’m constantly tracking price cuts across multiple online storefronts to ensure the deals are as good as retailers say.
